Whats wrong with that concept. A man can have male friends to hang out with but not date them right.
Besides in todays day and age one can hardly worry about racism in America. Take a momment to look around and see who the top players in this country are for eg. Doctors (India), Computers and IT (India, Asians) , Engeniers (Japanese, Asians, India) Lawyers (jewish), Janitorial staff and construction workers (americans born here). I mean how many times do you see a non white non hispanic and non african american doing lowly jobs.
So I would have to say this girl needs to grow up a little

Well, it's from a racist point of view, that's for sure. It sounds like this is something that she's been taught, probably from family. Her being cool with non-whites is her humanity being expressed. The dating thing is a policy that she's set. It's clearly ambiguous, which is why it sounds like a learned, form of behavior, or an expectation that she's trying to meet. I would wonder if her parents or other family members hold racist views? That's probably where the expectation is from.
The good thing is that since she's open to being around non whites, she might meet a non white man that she really likes, go out with him, and then maybe develop a different perspective. I know of a white girl who was that way, and her entire family, too. And then, after dating one black guy, she would only date black guys, and ended up marrying one. Her family doesn't understand at all, of course.

I'm old. When I was growing up, any kind of dating between whites and nonwhites was severely discouraged. However, I could still be friends with a black girl or a Jewish girl or an Oriental girl. I could talk with them, meet them (in a group) for a coke after school and even dance with them once or twice at a dance. I could NOT, however, date them. That's the way it was. Period. So, from my vantage, I would not consider her to be racist. She talks with them, is friends with them and certainly does nothing that would harm members of another race. She simply will not date them. Seems quite reasonable to me.

We all have our preferences with respect to appearance, and we all have the right to allow those preferences to guide who we select to date. It is simply wrong to expect a person to be even-handed there. There's nothing whatsoever racist about this.
For a parallel, think about this. I would never consider dating a preteen girl. It's wrong, and unappealing. Does that mean that I'm biased against preteen girls? Of course not.
We are not obliged to be fair with respect to who we're attracted to, and if we were it would quickly lead to some really serious problems.

not racist. just preference for her significant other. if she doesnt have problems w/non-whites in general, then shes not racist. Some ppl wont bother dating someone outside their race because it may get serious and her preference for a long life partner is of a different criteria

No she is not a racist. There is a diffence on judging people and being sexually interested in somebody.
It's like me; I have no problem being friends to a fat person; however I am not physically attracted to any of them. I seriously doubt I could be attracted to one no matter how great thier personallity is.
As for Jews, she is probably a little worried about that they were circumsized.

I would never go out with an Hispanic guy, even though I'm hispanic. It's a preference, not a racist opinion.

Good question, I used to think it was racist, but I think it's just a preference for people.

Not enough available information, but a guess would be```~~maybe she gay! or just her preference is white! I think, if she were racist she would not have Jewish or black friends, period.
