Here in the USA, freedom of expression is one of your constitutionally protected rights. Quoting Voltaire, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it".
Interestingly, burning a Mexican flag in Mexico WILL get you arrested.

Flag burning became a cool issue when the Viet Nam war was going on. I think it is a disgrace to burn the American flag as a way of protest. People in America have freedom of speech. No other country in the world has this freedom to the extent Americans do. You can jump up on your stump and say anything you want as long as it is not directed at a certain sect of people. If the USA citizens decided to burn another countries flag there would be all kinds of apologizes coming from Washington,DC. As far a persecution goes someone is terribly mistaken. Consider the girl in Iran, a 16 year old that was hung. They said she was a bad influence on other girls. That is persecution. Consider not being able to say the word pizza, that is persecution. People really need to read a little history.

Well, there a couple of issues here. First, when a flag becomes faded, torn or frayed it is burnt. That is the proper procedure for disposing of a national flag. The United States is about the only country that sees the flag as something sacred in and of itself. Most countries recognize that a flag is simply a piece of cloth, or nylon, with colours and/or design printed/sewn on it. If you purchase one and want to burn it, that's your business. For myself, I can't see paying good money to buy a flag - any flag - and then burning it. As a Canadian I won't get upset if some fool wants to burn a Canadian flag. The whole point of flag burning is to get under the skin of the nationals of the nation the flag of which is being burnt. Wny let some ignorant boob bug you?

All though I would never burn an American flag in protest, it wouldn't bother me to burn a Mexican flag in protest no matter who cared!

Because if you go to the trouble to burn any flag you are doing it to make a statement.

Are you sure?
I've never seen nor heard this particular situation arise!
What is your source of info other than your personal opinion?
to chupakabra123 : " Because we Americans are being pursicuted in our own country. How much longer will we take this before we blow up."
What are you trying to say? Why will America blow up? What is "pursicuted"? Are you proud of your education & limited ability to think independently & coherently?
