I would have asked the same question at your age.
Actually, I think it should be 21+ but that is just me. I think that being 16, 17, or 18 is a little young to watch some of the porn movies.
I watched a couple at the age of 18 and even though I was sexually active it was a little embarassing for me.
To answer your question, I think it totally has to do with maturity level.

Because on your 18th birthday God punches you in the face and everyone laughs. Hey, God works in mysterious ways....
The real answer is: Why not 19 or 20? Its just an arbitrary number politicians made up to set a standard. Yes, some people are psychologically ready at 16 or 17, but its the law that you can't do it until your 18. Just be glad its not 25 (Minimum age to rent a car)

Because in American society and elsewheres, people are considered adults at 18. The human brain is still developing in the teens and society does not want teenagers, 16 and 17, getting a warped brain. Also, people are more likely to engage in sex once they start watching it and the last thing society needs is more pregnant 16 and 17 year olds. Also the addicted to pornography rate is skyrocketting, thanks to the internet, and this destroys marriages and families.

Because 18 is the legal adult age, you can do most things(besides buy alcohol) when you turn 18, untill then......be patiant.....

because people who are 18 are considered adults...and people under 18 are still considered minors...and can't watch adult things.
