Would it be inappropriate for a male, who is about to have a physical, to request a female physician to perform the physical?

my only motive to want a female is that I would feel very uncomfortable with a man touching me there. I know that there 100% professional attitude and its not a sexual thing for me. I just would feel more comfortable and relaxed with a female.

my question primarily was if the request alone would be contrued as an act of sexual harassment reguardless if I were to go through the procedure complying with the physician's intruction and making no indecent remarks or gestures.

It depends on the motive. If you truly dont feel comfortable with a man touching your junk and looking over your body, then you have the right to choose just as you do your physician to begin with. If it s a sexual thing and you are hoping to impress a female with your anaotmy, I think its inapporopriate. Most female or male nurses are very aware that there are men out there who use this as an advance in their profession and have the right mind to ignore it. Remember, it can also be misconstrued at sexual harrassment and you may end up with a lawsuit on your hands, so just be aware if your motive is sincere or sexual.

Not in the slightest. I am sure you would rather a pretty girl do the "turn your head and cough" thing than having a man grab your package. You should, however, request a chaperon so there will be no questions asked.

I don't think it matters. I wouldn't risk it, however.
