I definitely would be one of the accused.
I've been a practicing Wiccan/Witch for over 20 years now. I've very proud of my religion and don't shy away from telling anyone what my religion is if I'm asked.
On a side-note: My friend and I are going to Salem in October for Halloween (both of our favorite holidays).

no one was immune... the salem witch trials was a collective hallucination due to a bacterial infection of rye in the bread the colonists ate...(no spiritual mystery....) the rye seed was dampened and when the bread was made, the bacteria in the rye activated, and people got trippy. the last known case of this bacterium was in France in 1954...
saw it on the History Channel....

For sure. Women accused were educated, knowledgable etc...women that threaten men's social status.
