I have seen two different comments today, from people from England, that were extremely rude toward Americans. One said that all followers of a particular American sport were all trailer trash and the other said that Americans should have all been scalped. I don't understand where this is coming from. Why are these people so angry? It's been over 200 years, we won, get over it, let it go.

I've been to England, and loved it, met some wonderful people there, that's really why I didn't understand this. And no, I don't live in a trailer park, I own 2 homes. And thanks for the compliment. :)

Im from Birmingham, the most common, argumentative, mouthy, offensive cityin England (apparently) but i love America!! Id never think of slagging it or its people off. YOURE COOL, PEOPLE

That's pretty rude of them to say that, but...there is a massive anti-American sentiment in Europe right now. A lot of people in England see Americans portrayed as ignorant, brash and ruthless in the media (for example George Bush) and are quick to think that a lot of Americans are that bad.
America's extremely dangerous foreign policy has also turned many against the country. For example being stupid enough to supply Israel with bombs that are killing innocent civilians in the current conflict.

It's xenophobia, blaming others for our problems, but also general anti americanism. Can you blame people for being angry with america when anything that deals with a foreign country (not just Iraq, but things like kyoto and the UN too) america treats other countries with disdain and arrogance.

Well i am from britian and i don't think it is this generation of Americans fault that people should be mad at and anyway we are friends or allies with you americans.
