Well B, if I can call you B, I look for the following things.

GOOD NOTE TAKER: Nothing like a person who doesn't take good notes. If there ever was a time when I'm sick or can't be there, I have to know someone who takes notes like I do.

GOOD STUDIER: Sorry, but I can't study with someone who goofs off ALL the time. Nothing wrong with having some laughs but when it's time to study, it's time to study.

IN CLASS INDIVIDUAL: What I mean by that is someone who is actually in class 95% of the semester. Sure things come up where you can't be in class and that's cool. It just lets me know they are serious about doing well in class, getting good grades, and graduation.

SOMEONE POSITIVE: Similar to a good studier. I like to surround myself with positive people. No one wants to learn from someone or be around someone who is always negative.

HAS A COMMON GOAL OF ACHIEVEMENT: This I would say is the most important. I feel I can learn from someone who knows where they want to go in life. Granted we all go off in different careers and such, but we have the common goal of achieving our goals and dreams. Yes no to people are alike, but we all have things we would like to accomplish.

As I learn, I share what I learn. I like to be able to learn from others. Their willingness to share what they have learned with me is great. So everything I spoke of before applies when it comes to me learning qualities from someone. Some people are straightforward, others are more chill, which is just fine so long as learning overall is the common goal.

It matters most what you want to learn from your classmates. For example, i had a classmate, who was consitently persistent. He would not stop till he achieves it, i learnt that quality from him. There was another guy, who always used to play it cool, and i learnt from him what it is to be cool. Not all qualities are possessed by the same person, but you can acquire certain from certain people, and you yourself would mix them up in the right proportion by your power of judgement, and evolve into a better person.
Good Luck!

Elaborate? Your question is vague, even though I know what you meant, what you ASKED is a different story.

The only quality I think I can learn FROM, is his ability to teach.

someone who understands the material and is willing to share their knowledge and understanding. someone who is a good "teacher". someone who has a different background from you so as to provide more diverseness of experience to the class. someone who is older or younger than you. ALL of the above!
