what do you think.i cant believe you have asked this question

Having children of my own I can honestly say I would gather all the evidence agaist the person who requested this job and present them to the school board, going all the way up to the superintendant, and even the govenor of that state if I had to just to keep this person away from children.
I would make fliers of the facts and distribute them to all parents who had children in that particular school district to inform them of the persons past.

Is there such a thing as an "ex-paedophile"?
In all honesty, I don't believe there is, and I'm not willing to take the chance when it comes to children.
There are so many other jobs available to such a person that doesn't necesarilly have to do with being around children

I think first off that a person can be cured of ANYTHING including This Horrible offense. However there is still a thing as common sense. You do not hire a person with a DWI/DUI conviction to drive buses and you do not hire a person who has hurt a child to be in a position over a child. That being said if they were looking for a Job in the System (like an administrative position) then maybe. Also there are plenty of other places they should be allowed to work. I think we react too harshly on most Sex offenders many of them are so labled because they were an 17 year old boy with a 15 year old girl. That is against the law in many states (and countries) should we really now say that they are ... permanently a threat to our children?

I think when you posed this question, you knew the answers that you would receive.

I would turn this question back on you, and ask, if you knew someone was a sexual predator on children, would you want them working anywhere near them?

As for the term ex-paedophile...does such a person exist?..after all, paedophiles and pederasts, don't walk around with something attached to them that identifies them in society. You can't remove the offending part, the most any of the professionals who work with these people can do is to try to get them to recognise that their behaviour is deviant and unacceptable.

All society can do is, if we become aware of such people in our midst, that hope they are monitored by the authorities.

Ultimately we have to be responsible for our children's safety, but we run the risk each time they leave the house with us, and each new friend we introduce into our homes.

You are joking aren't you???? What a question - surely the answer is obvious. Anyway what the heck is an EX-paedophile - once a child abuser, always a child abuser. As long as the person has been convicted of such a crime (in other words it's not just hearsay, as does happen in communities), I would laugh in the persons face and tell them there and then, No bloody chance mate, no chance, that's besides a few cuss words

Strongly Object! How does someone become an ex-paedophile?

there is only one reason a paedophile would want a job at a school, objection all the way.

Definitely object. I work in a primary school, there's know way I would want someone like that around the children. Anyway he wouldn't be able to because anyone who works with children has to fill in a CRB form, where you have to state any past crimes.

Absolutely, positively object and reject. He/she shouldn't even be out walking the streets, never mind applying for a job at a primary school.

There's no such thing as an ex-paedophile. they need to be kept away from children for life.
This means I would object strongly.
