Annuals live for one season and die. Perennials live throughout the warm months and either die back in the winter and come back, or go semi-dormant in the winter (depending on where you live).

Are you watering them? If you are, maybe you are watering them at the wrong time. I am not sure where you live, but I live in Colorado, it is dry and hot. Our flowers have to be watered after 6pm or before 10 am or the sun will fry them alive. Also, I have to water them 2 times a day because it has been so hot lately. If this is not the case for you, are they in pots with drainage holes? Do they have good soil? Are they for sun, partial sun, or shade? You should find this information out, and then do a search on the internet for care of your flowers in your area. It could also be the type of flower. Some bloom for a short period of time and then just die. Check it out. See what the prob is.

If you're keeping them watered, either they are planted in the wrong spot (too much sun, shade, etc) or that's just the kind of plant they are. I have had a lot of success with "Wave" petunias. They grow like crazy and bloom all summer long. Blessings!

Can you tell us where you live and what kind of flowering plants you are talking about-annuals, perennials, in containers, hanging baskets, or landscape beds? Is this the first year or this happens every year. How long have they been planted? If you know the name of the plants that will help too.
