Wrong. Nothing can justify head-butting someone. Zidane wasn't really provoked. Matarazzi didn't stay in his face where Zidane couldn't get away. He just made some rude comment in passing. Even if he had, a normal reaction would be a slap or a punch not a head butt.

As it is the xyphoid process is in the solar plexus region and traditional medicine also calls it a nerve center. If you press this point the right way it stops the heart. Head butting someone is very dangerous. Zidane should have gone to jail.

Zidane is not right upstairs or is a very mean-spirited arrogant and immature person. Maybe he hit his head one too many times on a soccer ball.

I was for the French team but decided I'm very glad the Italians won!

No one should say mean things to others but it's apparently common in soccer. They do need to crack down on this if they can. But, Zidane and Matarazzi's penalty was too close to the same. Since Zidane is retiring anyway, Matarazzi was actually more penalized. Plus, they didn't crack down on Matarazzi at the time. Rather only after Zidane whined (and probably lied).

Zidane apparently has a history of this behavior.

FIFA would have to punish 99.9% of all other footballers if the were to punish people who did what Materazzi did.

Wrong, because Zidane started and finished it, and they both spoke words inbetween.
