Could've sworn it was spelled "idol". But, hey, I'm no rocket scientist.
Anyways, yeah, for most of the season I wanted Chris or Kat to win, not Taylor. But he was a great performer and he deserved the victory, since no one expected him to make it as far as he did. So eventually I came around and started rooting for "soul patrol" too.
Even though his dancing style was a little strange, he is a great singer. But I hate his song "Do I Make You Proud?". It is so cheesy! And I think I just can't see him becoming a national sensation like Kelly Clarkson. I have an odd feeling that, when the next Idol season starts up, he'll start to fade away. Mostly because he only appeals to certain groups of people. Winning American Idol isn't an automatic ticket to stardom like they make it out to be. The only Idols that you really hear from nowadays are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. The others have sort of disappeared.
However, I loved Taylor's performances and his singing. He is a true performer and deserved the win. And it's great to see someone win something, not because of their looks or wealth, but due to true talent. That's pretty rare these days, and Taylor Hicks is a great guy. Go soul patrol!

I am not disappointed only because Taylor gives the feeling of being a genuinely nice and caring human being. That said, I also got the same vibes from Chris and Katharine McPhee.
I really would have liked to see Chris or Kathrine win but all three were worthy (as was Mandisa).

No I wanted Chris to win as well. He was my favorite from the beginning.

I did, I really wanted Chris to win and I thought he would, but dang. Anyways, Taylor was great too, I was actually amazed with his voice. It was unique, and I liked it. Im just glad that Katherine didn't win, she really bugged the crap outta me. She sang real good at times, but I didn't think she could handle the pressure, and it really reflected in her voice.
