It's not so much Christianity as it is change. Political communism often leads to this factor. Once the people rely on the communism, it creates a benefactor for the government. As the government starts keeping more, the people recieve less. But the people often don't know any other way. The government actually uses the discipline of Budhism and Taosim to encourage living without ammenities. It is their impression that the people of Christian nations often flourish, removing power from the government. When someone comes in and tries to teach Christianity, they are teaching the people to think a different way. This is bad for communism. The government is afraid the people will wake up one day and see that there is a more free way to live.

That is a good question.
I think it may have to do with the fact that in Christianity, the believer knows that God has his back and that the government is not the answer to everything. Also, there are laws of God that Christians live by and humanitarion laws that God has set up and the Chinese government is only out for themselves.
They want to keep the people under thier thumb.
I really dont know why they are so against the Christian God but it also may have to do with the idea that it is a western religion which is wrong for the bible was written in the middle east.
That makes it a middle eastern religion, not a western one like Mormanism.

It's not really about Communism, it's about power. True Communism doesn't require people to lack any faith in God, only a separation of church and state, as should all governments. Furthermore, true Communism was created to have a system of government where the people's combined efforts worked for the benefit of the entire population.

The idea of Communism was to get everyone's cooperation to help everyone prosper, but it has been the lack of true Democracy in Communist nations that has led to a perverse version of communism. In the real world, Dictators and not Democratically Elected leaders have been in charge. Therefore, the people of communist nations haven't been able to hold the corrupt accountable for their abuses of power.

The Chinese Government doesn't want any beliefs to be taught freely that could possibly jeopardize the grip they have over all the people that they oppress. If people in China put their faith freely in any deity, then that diminishes the possibility that they'll be devout nationalists.

Terrible things have been done in the name of christianity.?

it's ridiculous how people who don't know as much as they do just consider religion to be like a wave of white light that washes over us and boom! a perfect society.
America is 90% christian, yet people use religion for all the wrong reasons: killers claim when they kill prostitutes, they are cleansing our society of Devilish people. Cults twist the Bible's true meaning to ridiculous extremes.

Think: one day all of the world is Christian.
but i doubt we'll have a Garden of Eden.
the human weaknesses and sins will always be there, driving us right back to where we came from.

Chinese goverment is Communist, but it doesn't mean Chinese people are.
the government wants control over everything, but they don't have control over their mind of soul.

Being Chinese myself, I should know.

They are afraid the Christians will attempt to do to their country what it has done to countless other countries throughout history. They are afraid that the Christians will try to impose their beliefs & lifestyles on their people thus erroding their current way of life. Don't believe me? Look at native Americans. How much is their current culture like it was originally?

Chrisitanity means you have free will and respect the rights of others. Communism is the absense of these. You give your life to the man, and whatever the man says goes. Example: There an not a lot of brown haired, blue eyed Asians. Why? They ordered them killed. Under Communism, that's fair.

They are afraid that if their people change their ideals then they may revolt against the government eventually, since that is basically the entire country's religion anyways.
