Like, you see so many white kids dressing and trying to talk like black people. And many black families (mostly middle to upper class) wanna be different too.

What's wrong with everyone???

Everyone is just trying to fit in, get along and be something they are not. Who knows? who cares? does it really matter? I guess the whities think they are going to be more cool by acting black and the blacks want to be accepted by society by acting white. Does it really matter?

I say be who you are and as a popular song goes..." why can't we live together?" We are all brothers and sisters, no matter what color, race or religion, when everyone understands that humankind will be better off, until then there will wars, riots and unrest the world over.

People are foolish, narrow minded, selfish and intolerant of others because of how others look, speak, dress, act, pray or where they live. Walk a mile in my shoes and live year in my life if you want to know me, but you can never be me and I can never be you, but I can understand you and I can learn to know you.

I agree that some white people are just trying to act black..but not everyone is acting..why do most people think that white people can't be like that?? it is not just a "Black Thing"..cuz there are white people who grow up in the ghetto also..they are living around the same way of life.. Not every white person lives in the good neighborhood and goes to the good school ..shops at the best stores..give me a break..just cuz I'm white don't mean i was born with silver spoon in my mouth.. I may not have had exactly the same struggles as a Black person..but by no means was my life great..when i left home..it was with the clothes on my back and a few in a bag.. No help from family... Where i am now is from hard work and determination.. And i feel if a person wants to change the way they act--whats wrong with that?? who says you have to act one way all your life..When you grow up-- you progress into a better person..whichever way it takes you..and no one should tell you any different

There is nothing "wrong" with people wanting to be a certain way. It is so incredibly foolish and makes me angry to think that there are people going around giving others a hard time because they are “acting” outside of what is supposedly “normal” for their race. Why can’t individuals be individual and choose for themselves what they like and want to be like. If a black is middle class, wouldn’t it be strange for them to act like they were from the ghetto when they were raise to speak properly and carry themselves with class and respect?

With many teens especially, those guys will do whatever is cool for the moment or whatever can get on their parents nerves. Right now, the ghetto culture is “cool.”

By acting white, I assume you mean mainstream American...clean cut, proper English, has a job, etc. And by acting black I assume you mean baggy clothes, bad language, lazes around whining about race. This isn't white and black. This is American and ghetto or something like that. It isn't acting white for any one to learn to speak correctly, use manners, wear clothes that fit, show respect, go to school, get a job and all that. It's acting normal. People do it all the time.

The grass is greener on the other side. Black people feel they are being repressed so they tend to act white to get past it. White people feel that blacks have it easy with equal opportunity so they feel if they act black, the might get it 'easier'. People are never happy with who they are or what they have.

I am black, and i never want to be white, because being a whiteboy has become the worst insult in the USA so far.

some white people realise that they lack things that black people have naturally and wish they could have it.

People are who they are. Black or White. You can't act like a black person or act like a white person. You act how you want to act. They may act like a type person (thug, prep, etc) but those can be black or white.

hip hop culture has a lot to do with white kids trying to be black or being "wiggers" and as for the black families, they dont want to be stereotyped as living near or in poverty.

that's just my opinion though
