With any foundation you need to find one that matches your skin tone.
And with being 17 one that has medication for acne is a plus. You may not have acne but wearing foundation can cause the pores to clog up and give it to you.
Use one that contains a good sun screen and a good moisturizer.

And above all else remember that LESS IS MORE.
The less makeup you wear the better you look. Makeup, especially foundation tends to make you look older and make your skin look more leathery.
Your better off wearing a foundation that already has the powder finish in it, it helps keep you from looking like the foundation is clumped on and thick.

It won't make her look older, although I wouldn't recommend Max Factor foundation as it isn't that great and there are several much better options at the drugstore.

What she should look for to help her stay looking young is a foundation with SPF in it and a good UV protectant, which prevents wrinkles and sun damage. Look for these ingredients listed as active ingredients in a foundation: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or avobenzone.

Some good ones to try are Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Enhancer (I love this one, but it is too sheer for people needing lots of coverage) and L'Oreal True Match Blendable Foundation (I also like this one, but the Neutrogena wears better on me in the summer, this has better coverage).

Max Factor has a good foundation. Gives a near flawless complexion.

IMO, Max Factor foundation isn't for humans. That stuff is nasty! It is heavy and full of ingredients that I would never, in a million years allow anywhere near my face! YUK!
