In the bible Sodom and Gamorah were destroyed by God for the sin of homosexuality: Leviticus 20:13; 13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Children were used for sex toys and many other things happened in Sodom and Gamorah. Archeoligists have confirmed that the Sodom and Gamorah existed. So they have men with men and women with women.

Genesis 19:23-25; 23The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.

24Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

25And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground

Those cities were the only cities destroyed only for this sin.

Leviticus 20:13

13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

This is not about hate or taking it personal. I am interested not in judging but investigating. There is a difference.

It's completely natural and normal...and genetic. we have been around as long as there have been mankind. and before you quote some more Bible verses to justify your homophobia...read this!

Dear Conservative Christian,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I
have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge
with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They
claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my eye i require reading glasses would my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Your devoted disciple and adoring fan.

My, my...all that biblical stuff. Who wrote that stuff anyway? Certainly not a female. Blood has been shed all over the earth for centuries for some of those beliefs. Have we learned nothing? Who was Leviticus anyway? Everyone keeps quoting him like he is some absolute authority. Sodum and Gamorrah? Where the hell is that and who cares? This is America. I think Rodney King, the black dude who got beat up by the LA cops said it best in a more recent quote, "Can't we just get along here?" Now doesn't that make more sense? What happened to common sense? Deal with what is...and what is,.is, there is a third gender, like it or not, and this is the USA , one nation under God, regardless of...that provides rights and liberty, ya da, ya da, ya da. I can think of a lot of gay people whom I like and many I don't. No different from the straights, Let's try to get along. If you want to hate something...go after those pedaphiles and people who hurt and kill children. They were not gay. We can all get a combined hate on for them. So lets start there, we are not all so very different now are we? Agree?.

First, please READ the Bible. You'll find that Sodom and Gamorah was destroyed by God because the city was inhospitable to God's angels. Homos had nothing to do with it.

Second, Archeologists have never confirmed that the Sodom and Gamorah existed.

Third, some people (myself included) think the Bible is fiction. I no more worry about the Judeo Christian god coming to get me then I worry about Sauron or Jack Sparrow or Aladin coming to get me.

I don't think about Homosexuals at all, though because you ask, I will said that Homosexuality was the main cause why Satan have acquired so much power over the earthly World, which included all humanity as well Homosexuals and non-Humans. To my perception Homosexuals provide refuge for Satan, and to my knowledge they are the main reason why Jesus will die in the cross instead of becoming the best politician ever, as well than the best religious leader all at once. I have read the bible with such a though in my mind two or three times already after maybe 10 times without thinking or having such a though to day I'm more convince than that is the true., and although Jesus gave everyone of then the chance to repent, many they don't, and they will continue their way's, even worst some trying to pull and push others to follow their wicket way to physical pleasures.

You are a patent liar.

If you're truly interested in "investigating" what the Bible says about homosexuality, I urge you check out the link below.

If you are, as you state, merely investigating, then why did you Answer another Question thus:

"According to the one true god, Homosexuality is a sin. Many people ask about what god does, and when I read the books of the Prophet, everything became clear." (see second link below)

I really do think you need to be with your own people and not here with us. Proselytizing, regardless of how thinly it's veiled, is always distasteful, especially from so-called "Christians" such as you.

You and your people are so transparent you are nothing less than pathetic.

Best Wishes!

Actually, most theologians now feel that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was inhospitality to the strangers. If you read the story carefully, you'll see Lot offered his daughter to the strangers - an odd thing to do if they were gay; he'd have been better off offering his son. (Gen 29:8)

For an extensive review of the story, including translation from the original texts, see the link below.

The bible is a book of stories. Sodom and Gomorrah have not been proved to have existed, and what kind of god worries more about sex then genocide such as happened in Germany, China, Russia etc?

Yup... just as i expected... another one using the bible as smmo towards us. you're not the first, and you're most certainly not the last. instead of posting, why don't you check out the posts which have exactly the same quotes... which is sad because a few lines from a scribe thousands of years old and comparing them with modern day beliefs and values is, to say the least, rediculous. to be honest, I do not care what you believe, nor to I care if you go to heaven or hell, but remember, not everyone is the same religion, so i strongly advise you not post another question like this in this section or any other section of yahoo answers again. your attack isn't justified nor is it warranted. Go away and leave us alone. I'll see you in hell... from heaven :P

Oh good LAWD, child! Then we're all going to hell(gay and straight)on a bullet train! Stop using the Bible to promote hate and bigotry, sweetie.

So, do you hate people who eat shrimp, pork, get blood transfusions, masturbate, and withdraw before they come(check out the verse about what happens to the guy who "spills his seed")?

Guess what, darling? New York is still standing, New Orleans is being rebuilt, San Franciso's still strong, and Las Vegas is still raking them in. You're entitled to your opinion, but if you really believe in the Word, you shouldn't judge anyone unless you want to be judged.

And any of you so called "saved people" that without sin, cast the first stone. Otherwise, live and let live and worry about yourself and your own salvation. Quit speaking for God and quit your hate! In other words(for all you bible thumpers out there), how can you claim that you love someone that you cannot see(i.e.God and Jesus), but hate your brother(or sister)whom you see everyday? Think about that!

I pity the Christians, like Neosapphire and Tex. They judge and condemn, and they too shall face brimstone and the gnashing of teeth.

And who says that being gay is all fun and games? Do you know the suicide rate of homosexual teens who can't come to grips with how society views them? They try to be straight, can't do it, and so end the very life that torments them?

What about the life partner dying of cancer, who can't see her spouse because there is no legal way for her to do so?

Why can't Christians accept a) most are in no way truly Christian, b) there is NO way that all people will be Christian? Why can't they get over it and move on?
