I have to travel constantly for my work... although I get paid mileage.. it does not totally cover the cost of gasoline.. I live in Dallas and the average price for regular is 2.90 to 3.00 a gallon, and I drive anywhere from 500 to 650 miles a week. It takes about 40 dollars to fill up my car. So on average I spend about 300.00 dollars a month on gas if not more sometimes. The price of gas is astronomical and I keep think that as some point it HAS to start declining some... but obviously not. I RECIEVED AN E MAIL A FEW WEEKS AGO AND IT STATED THAT IF EVERYONE WOULD START BUYING GAS FROM THE NON-MAJOR CHAINS.... EXCLUDE BUYING GAS FROM EXXON, SHELL, CHEVERON, TEXACO ETC.... AND JUST BUY IT FROM THE SMALLER COMPETITIORS... THAT WITHIN A WEEK WE COULD FORCE A CHANGE IN THE MARKET PRICING OF GAS... I am more than willing to try this.. but if only a few of us do it, there isn't much point. What do ya'll say?

Gas hit $3.09 last week here in eastern Wisconsin. It takes about $40 to fill up my Cavalier now, and I've been going through about half a tank a week lately, just driving to work and back, around town, and to nearby cities. Getting kind of tough on less than $8 an hour. Just a few years ago, I can remember getting by on about $7 or $8 a week in gas. I've been reading a lot lately about the economy being right on the edge of a cliff. It seems a major crash is almost imminent. The expansion of the war, another major hurricane, another terrorist attack, anything like that could push it over. Sad to say, I think that's exactly what the powers that be want.

I probably only spend about $10 to $20 a week, unless I go on a trip. Luckily I drive a company vehicle to work. I've been trying to combine errands. It does seem to help out. Gas here right now is about $2.90 a gallon. Yeah, I think as gas goes up the economy will get worse. Everything in stores will have to go up to cover the transportation costs, so people will buy less.

I just bought a diesel truck so I don't have to pay anything because my husband is a fueler. But when I had my car I was paying 50-70 dollars a week because of all the driving I have to do. It didn't really affect my family because my husband has a good paying job, but I can only imagine how this could be affecting the lower class families. My heart goes out to them and their struggles because of this crisis. (but you need to think of it this way, this gas war has been going on for years. In the 70's gas stations were even running out of gas and the prices were climbing so high that they were going through exactly what we are going through 30 years later, that's got to tell you that this crisis is really nothing new to this country just new to us in this generation.)

If my gas tank is on empty, it would cost me about $50.
That is why if you are watching the news and if you know someone in Iraq gas cost $.85 a gallon
I am not worried about the price of gas at this moment. I just the war to be over.

i work nights and my job requires me to drive alot so i put about 75-80 dollars worth of gas in my car a week and about twice a week i give my husband 40 dollars twice a week for gas in his truck. so in a week i spend 175-180 in gas a week and it really sucks. i remember when it was about 1.89 a gallon. the economy really sucks!!!!!!

My husband and I are in Arkansas and we're averaging about $120 - $150 / wk for gas. It's insane!!!! (We're actually thinking about moving closer to where he works because of the gas prices, even though we live in a perfect, wonderful suburb).
