Hi, who do you think is a better player and why? Wilt Chamberlain or George Mikan? I am a basketball card collector and i'm really looking for an answer compared to Basketball cards. Such as there rookie cards price defference, the Autographed cards price defference and so on. Anybody have any autos of these 2 players?

Overall, Wilt was the better player. He was arguably the most dominant and imposing player in the history of the NBA, and some believe he's not only the greatest center, but the greatest player of all-time. However, Mikan's cards and signature may be worth more because he is an older player and probably didn't do as many appearances and signings later on as "The Big Dipper".

As great as he was, do not forget that Mikan played nearly half of his professional basketball career BEFORE the NBA permitted black basketball players (1950-1951) season. Even then, the better black players played with the New York Rens and the Harlem Globetrotters.

Bill Russell was drafted for the 56-57 season. Chamberlain came to the NBA in the 60-61 season.

Yes, Mikan revolutionized the center position and was easily the best white player in his era. I honestly feel that if both Mikan and Chamberlain competed against each other in their prime, Chamberlain would have dominated.

Im not a lakers fan. With that said, I think an All Time Lakers team would sweep the All Time Celtics team. Do you see how stacked they are at Center? I would most definitely have to play James Worthy off the bench and have a rotation of Wilt and Kareem at PF and Shaq and George Mikan at C. Throw in the best point guard to play the game, Kobe AND Jerry West? lol no team can withstand that. Not even close

i would say wilt chamberlain because he is on the top 50 and george mikan isn't. Wilt Chamberlain is one of the greatest basketball players in nba history. i wouldn't compare these two players.

I'm sorry, but this isn't even close. Chamberlain was stronger, faster, and all around better.
