From Madrid to Oviedo you have 447 kms. of good road.
It should take about 5 hours to drive there.
There are three Talgo trains from Madrid to Oviedo every day: one at 8:00 am arriving in Oviedo at 1:43 pm. the 2nd at 2:15 pm arriving at 8:44 pm.and a last one at 10:45 pm arriving at 6:57 am. ( Price 37,50 € to 49,50 €)
Or you can fly from Madrid Barajas to Oviedo Asturias
There are 7 IBERIA flights per day (flight is one hour and 5 minutes, costs 207 €,.)
SPANAIR has 2 direct flights per day, one in the morning at 11:20
the other at night at 9:20 pm. Also taking 1 hour and 5 min. the price is much cheaper...74 €

When I made the trip, I went by plane. It didn't cost that much more than the leg from New York to Madrid. There is also a train.
