I think I did well enough to not completely suck....what does everyone think?

For those that question the defense,...Carolina was #3 last year...and really didn't change...Green Bay was #7 last year and got better...check into that.

You did OK for a first draft, but don't expect to win too many games. Think of this year as a learning experience.

For starters, I could've told you you were a Carolina fan even without your handle, because you made Key your #2 Fantasy receiver. Not that I dislike you other Panther picks. But don't play favorites, that will kill your perspective.

Let's assume you stick with this lineup for the season, here's what I see.

At QB, you're just fine. Palmer, if he plays all 16 games, could well be no worse than the #2 QB this year.

For your RB's, you're going to be ok, but you could've done better (I know you could have based on your other picks). I am assuming Tiki was your first rounder, and you picked somewhere toward the back 3rd of your draft in round 1. However, I think DeAngelo is going to be the starter in Carolina in a hurry, and will be a monster, so you could be very strong in this area by season's end. If that doesn't happen, your season will go down the tubes fast.

At WR, man, I'm sorry, but you're average--at best. You're going to have plenty of weeks where both of your WR's will score single digits, combined. But I personally think WR is the hardest position to draft, so don't be disheartened by that statement, you'll improve with more experience.

I like your DF pick of Carolina, but Green Bay is going to be the Red Carpet this year. The reason their pass defense stats look so good is because everybody ran the ball down their throats last year.

The best thing you can do to help yourself this season is be an active Waiver wire player. If you choose to ignore this facet of FFB, you will never be more than an average player. The good news is, WR is usually a position where a couple of surprises come out of nowhere that will probably be available for waivers.

And the "don't draft a QB in the first round rule" is bunk. If I'm in a 10-man league, and I'm drafting 9th, and all RB's have been picked before me, I'm taking Peyton Manning in a heartbeat. Or if it's 7 RB's and Peyton, I might be taking Steve Smith and picking up a RB on the turn.

Not exactly. Fine, u r a rookie. And acting like one too. There are so many bargains in QB. WR is pretty deep and u can find options on the free agent market. K. Robinson and Kevin Curtis are almost worthy of dropping. U have only 3 RBs and they are not good at all. YIKES! RBs is the most important position, even if u r in a league that has only 2 RBs and up to 4 WRs spots. No one really cares about the kicker, just hoped u didn't pick him before the last round. Green Bay D is one of the worst! U need to get rid of that D. I applaud the Carolina D pick and u have two nice QBs in Palmer, who WILL be back by Week One, and Delhomme.

Well, if by completely suck, you mean last place, then maybe not, but your team isn't very good. You only have 2 starting RB's, and only 3 RB's overall. That needs to be a much stronger position.

As for your WR's, you have #2 fantasy WR's in Walker and Galloway. Keyshawn should be a #3 WR while Koren and Curtis are toss away wideouts. Your QB's are fine, but you would have been better served by using the high pick that you used to take Palmer and get another good RB at that spot. Delhomme is definitely capable of being a top 8 fantasy QB.

Carolina's D is a good starting D while GB is brutal. I don't know what site is ranking GB 7th overall, but that is a joke. As for the TE's, Cooley is underrated and could be pretty good again this year.

If you do another draft, I would recommend getting 3 RB's in the top 5 or 6 picks. You can normally get very good QBs in the 6th-8th rounds like Bledsoe, Delhomme, Plummer, or Green. Last year, Palmer was a 7th-10th round pick.

If you are in a 10 team league, I would expect you to finish in the bottom half. Especially if you have a WR/RB spot. You should always attempt to have 3 or 4 STARTING RB's on your roster. If you are in a 12 team league, you should be a middle of the road team. To contend, I would look to package Palmer and Dunn and any of your WR's for a much better RB a backup QB and a better WR.

PS, whatever you do in FF, NEVER DRAFT A QB IN THE 1st ROUND!!!! EVER!!!! I mean it, ever!!! Unless you are in a 12 team league and PM is there at 12, don't waste the pick. You need to get better value then Manning with your 1st pick, even though he is the best QB. Like I stated earlier, there is so much depth at QB, you can get very good ones later in the draft.

Let me actually give u sum helpful advice here. You dont need another qb, U have quite possibly the best qb in Palmer and u have Delhomme. Tiki is a fantasy stud and Warrick Dunn always manages to put up numbers and get passed on at the same time. I dont like Deangelo williams for the simple fact that he would only be useful if Foster went down. If u wanted Williams u shouldve also gotten foster therefore havin both of them insured. I agree Carolina is one of the best defenses but eventhough green bay has a good defense in real life what matters most in fantasy is sacks and forced turnovers. U did pretty good but where i worry is at the wr position. The most important positions in fantasy are wr and rb. Your wrs especially are a bunch of #2 receivers. Ur team will do good if they maximize their potential but you will suffer on ur rbs bye weeks if williams doesnt start and u will be done if sumthin 1 of ur rbs get hurt. If u can drop Green Bay for a added rb for depth, defenses are generally so random that on carolina's bye week u can get 1 from the waivers in exchange for 1 of ur players who arent doing good.

I competely agree with you. You did a heck of a job with the draft, albeit your first. Since this is your first draft, let me give my analysis:

QB:
Palmer is the top at his position, if he's healthy. Rehab is going great for him and with the same unit in tap, he bound to repeat that performance, barring injuries. Delhomme is one of the most underrated QB because he doens't post spectacular stats like Manning or Brady, but he still get the job done and w/ Steve Smith and Keyshawn to pass to, Delhomme is going to be a sleeper.

RB:
Barber is top 10, no doubt, but you have to question his future, as he is pondering about retirement and how it's going to affect him this season. Dunn is also a great RB, but with Duckett and Vick continue to run the ball, when will Dunn get his share? Unless Foster gets hurt, I see Williams as more of a third-down back in situations (unless a platoon is on a way).

WR:
Walker is coming off a serious injury and I question if he is healthy enough to contribute (along with Rod Smith getting the majority of the looks), but he is a top 20 WR if healthy and could be a sleeper. Galloway had a comeback season, mostly because Michael Clayton slump in his sophmore year, but I don't see Galloway having the same numbers with Clayton healthy (and entering the magic third year in which NFL WR breakout). Johnson shold have decent number with opposing defense concentrating on Steve Smith. Robinson is the "de-facto" go-to guy in Minnesota, if he is "sober" enough, but Nate Buerlson departure and the questions of the other receivers makes it hard to tell Robinson season. Curtis is just going to have to wait for Bruce to fall to see some opportunites in an high-octane offense.

TE
Cooley is an emerging star at his position and Washington is a potential high-octane offense in the making (Portis, Santana Moss, Brandon Lloyd), so he should get some looks. Lewis is a good TE and bound to get some looks with a questionable offense.

K
Shayne Graham is a good kicker benefiting from the best offense, so he should get some looks also.

DEF
Carolina is a top-3 defense and they should continue the success on their end. Green Bay defense is a question mark to start with. The offense is not getting any younger and I'm not sure if rookie A.J. Hawk can carry this defense in his first year?

You did good for a first draft, but not great. I like your QB situation. Delhomme is nice to have if Palmer isn't ready at the beginning of the season. among your receivers I like Walker and Robinson is a great sleeper pick. Johnson will be decent and I think Curtis has a shot to be productive. Galloway I'd drop. Cooley isn't bad. You're thin at RB. Barber is very good and Dunn isn't bad, but you have just one backup and he won't necessasrily start. Rather than having backups at every position, I generally don't carry an extra defense or TE and maybe just one backup WR. I like to carry at least 4-5 RB. You can always find a DEfense or TE for the bye week. You can't find an extra RB. Still if you're active and keep up on who's gaining starting jobs or who's losing them, you can make the playoffs.

You will not make the playoffs, your team is poor!

Qb is so;id

WR You do not have any stand out guy.

Walker is good Robinson may be your next best guy. Having so many WR is a rookie mistake!

RB Very average! BArber is ok but he will not get goal line carries, Same with dunn.

Cooley and lewis should be fine

Graham is good

CArolina is good too, but they have a harder schedu;e this year!

Drop Curtis for JOnes from JAx if you can since Taylor got hurt today and you will be better.

Good Luck you will need it!

hope carson gets well soon (sounds like he had some good practices and has been throwing well)...go trojans

delhomme should probably be your starter for the first two weeks (great first string)

javon walker is a good receiver, but who knows how he will do in denver

joey galloway is still a good receiver and should be okay (but I would put him on the bench in place of curtis)

cooley is an underrated te, and should get you plenty of points

dunn is going to be better than williams and should be the starter in my opinion.

good luck with your team.
