You have to find yourself first before finding who you want to be with. Divorce the no good in jail, pack up, move out to a different place. Find a job, a waitress, a store clerk, etc. Get a life of your own ALONE for at least three month.
Now decide who do you want to meet, in what social circles and how. Taking a course in a state collage may be a starting point.
You are trapped in the past, and there is nothing worth while there, dump it and generate a new future.
Keep Smilin'

Only you can decide whether your husband is worth waiting for or not. 3 years is a long time to wait and something, God forbid, may happen in prison and that time may grow. Not knowing what hes in for, you may not want to see if this happens again once hes out. It already sounds like you have moved on but are looking for social approval or justification for doing so. Think about it as its not having what you want, but wanting what you have. Also, if you want something, youre willing to take a risk, if you want something bad enough, youre willing to risk everything. From experience with these types of cases, guys in prison expect their wives or girlfriends not to wait for them, no matter what they tell you, especially long termers. Good luck

Sounds like you need to be comfortable standing on your own. You need to be with the person you will be faithful to and that you want that lifelong commitment with. If you aren't going to be true to yourself or your husband in prison, sound like you've already made your choice. Be straight and divorce your husband though so he can move on with his life when he comes out.

Use you brain, think of security first. How are you going to survive? Dump the jailbird and go on with your life. Think of yourself right now, nobody can help you except yourself.
