Other languages have sounds that are not present in English. A rolling R is present in a few. Some of our sounds are not found in other languages. The th sound or wh sounds, for example.
The stranger ones, to me, are the ones in which the tone of the sound changes the meaning, such as Chinese. This makes the incidence of perfect pitch much more frequent in that population, because children must learn tone as well as phoneme.

...They don't? There's no "R" letter, but an r sound/letter that looks like a Roman "P". The backwards R letter sounds like a "yah".
Maybe you're thinking of Spanish...?
