Being Canadian is having the best of all worlds.

We have the standard of living that no one exceeds, only matches. We have them most powerful ally in the world, and we can be total dinks to them and we know they will always come bail us out no matter what.

We are educated, but our weather makes us tough and resilient and environmentally aware.

We are probably the most objective country in the world and yet we are the biggest dreamers on the planet.

And we dominate hockey and being funny.

We helped build the largest Empire in the world and also have a cool song.

In Days of yore,
From Britain's shore,
Wolfe the dauntless hero came
And planted firm Britannia's flag
On Canada's fair domain.
Here may it wave,
Our boast, our pride,
And join in love together,
The thistle, shamrock, rose entwined,
The Maple Leaf Forever

The Maple Leaf
Our Emblem Dear,
The Maple Leaf Forever.
God save our Queen and heaven bless,
The Maple Leaf Forever!

It's the best of both worlds. They are in many ways, America "light". They have a good standard of living, for the most part. They get tons of overflow industry and commerce from the US as well as military protection, whether they will admit it or not. They have the US to keep a large standing Army, and pay for all the nukes to protect N. America, etc.
They have much better news casts and TV programming than all the crap that is on US networks TV today.

I'm not Canadian, but truthfully it is a good country. I still don't understand what people see bad about it. Great winter resorts, fun outdoor games, good culture, and a very clean enviornment with lots of natural things.

Not being an American. I could cite dozens of things, but that's at the top of the list. I wouldn't have been nasty, but the first answer on here was - so I'm returning the fire.
