No. I give them something they could use, like water for instance. I never know who is really homeless and who isn't, so instead I give money to charities to help those that really are. In the meantime, it's hot out there, so I'll give them a drink.

Yes. I know oftentimes people say you shouldn't because they'll just use it to get drunk. But often that isn't true, many do actually want food and just had a run of bad luck that put them in that situation. And so what if they want to get drunk, it will help them forget for a little while. Its not like they'll be given that much of a chance anyway, By the time they reach that point just getting clean clothes and a shower (not even nice job-interview clothes, just any clean clothes at all) is practically impossible. The likelihood that they'll get a job is practically nil also, so let them do what they can to ease it.

I would hope that they'd look for a shelter to help them as much as anyone, but I've seen those shelters myself. They're severely understaffed and they don't have the space to handle as many homeless as there are in America. Homeless people must do what they can to survive, both emotionally and physically.

You're better off donating to a Homeless Shelter or church that feeds homeless people. Handing money to a street person just reinforces their habit, as they may and will use the money for drugs or alcohol.

I don't, I know that may sound cruel to some, but I think it reinforces their plight....I donate to homeless shelters and charities which care for them instead......don't give change, make it!

No. May offer to take them to eat if they say they are hungry... Most of the guys/ gals on the street corner make more than I do and don't pay their taxes on that income! Sit back and watch....cell phones, smokes.... you get the idea...

I did a few times. Nothing wrong with it. It just shows that you care for the poor people.
