how do you go about uninstalling and reinstalling the sound card device?

TWO METHODS:
first one:
1) go to control panel
2) click on sound and audio device properties
3) select hardware option
4) then choose you sound card,click for properties
5) choose to uninstalled.
6) then re-installed with your driver cd (if on board sound card) or sound card cd's (external sound card)

second one:
1) go to my computer properties
2) select 'hardware' option
3) click on 'device manager'
4) search and click at 'sound,video, and game controllers'
5) select your sound card device then right click using mouse
6) click uninstall the driver.
7) then re-instanll again as follow method one.

right click on my computer choose properties, then hardware device manager goto sounds multimedia click on the +
then right click on the icons and choose uninstall.

and then restart the machine it will automatically start to reinstall.
