I'm pretty remedial when it comes to hardware, and getting deep into computer confusion, but I have suggestions that I do know about.
First, determine your processor speed,,, I realize it's a P3, but you may have programs running that don't need to be, and can close them, to facilitate more speed for that which you are actually doing.
B: You can upgrade RAM,,, as far as your particular comp allows, up into multiple GIGs if you wish.
Finally: You can clear history, cache, cookies, every time you sign on.
Do not keep multiple windows open, don't attempt playing a Music CD while you browse the web.
You can go broadband.
No matter all else you do, if your PROCESSOR speed is less than 1 GIG in this day and age, your comp is only able to give modest performance. I used to think Gateway was a good product. My ex had one at 1 GIG, but it was as slow as I am as I type this. I suspect upgrading costs should be compared to the purchase cost of NEW,,,
I've been exploring E Bay,,,and as I say, I'm remedial, but I notice a new thing,,,to me at least,,, DUAL CORE.
I'll assume that means easier multi tasking,,,which is another thing I'm remedial at.

Celerons suck for enjoying video games. extraordinarily for a extreme res game like call of duty 2. Celeron's are in many cases used for much less extensive purchasers. All you're able to do with that's merely be conscious, information superhighway, chat, and so on.... i could first improve the video card, it seems which you have onboard video, so that's sharing aspects out of your RAM and additionally CPU utilization. in case you purchase a video card, it could have this is very own RAM and it could have a GPU which will unencumber computing out of your CPU. Technically, you have a gig of RAM, yet i assume 32MB is probable being shared for the Video. next i could improve the Processor, get a pentium 4 or pentium d, or if it is going to artwork on your workstation, a center 2 duo. desire this facilitates!
