It all depends on who you ask. Some say to never use bumper pads at all now because it inhibits air flow for the baby.
However, if you do use them, they should be removed around the ages of 5-6 months. If your child can roll over, they risk rolling and becoming trapped under the bumpers which can result in suffocation.
Also, if your child happens to walk early, he/she can use the bumper as a step. (My first child walked at 7 1/2 months, so that was a major factor for us)
Hope that helps.

do no longer eliminate them for as long because of the fact the crib is in use. It protects them from hurting themselves. infants usually hit their heads on the climate of the crib on a similar time as shifting around of their sleep. injuries are a possibility like no count if the toddler is in the direction of the top of their crib experience, or interior the commencing up. The bumper pads could stay in for the dimensions of time that they use the crib.

Here this should help:
You should never remove the padding from a baby's crib. They will not need it once they are in there own regular bed.
The padding must be tucked in between the mattress and the railing. this is to insure that baby's arms and legs do not get stuck between the bars.

Bumper pads are never recommended in Canada, they are never safe at any age. They cut down on air circulation in cribs and increase the risk of SIDS. You can research this online anywhere.

Hi! I weaved the bumper pads in and out of the slats in my son's crib. I was worried about the suffocation thing, too, but didn't want him to bang his head against the slats, either. Works for us! Allison

I wouldn't take it out until she's old enough to get herself out of trouble, like sticking her arm in the slits of the crib. My biggest fear is having her arm caught at night and ending up breaking it.
Hey, if you have it, use it.

I pulled mine out of their cribs when they started pulling up and standing up. That way you don't have to worry about them getting tangles up in it.

Right as soon as they can roll over. There is the possibility the baby can roll over to it and somehow get tangled and then roll back over, making a suffocation or strangling possible.

I was told that when they can use it to climb out of the crib, it is time to remove it. Thanks for the reminder, my 7 month old is pulling to stand-probably time to take hers out!
