What size tank would you prefer for a bearded dragon?
A 40 gallon breeder or a 55 gallon?

I do think that the 40 is better because of how short it is from top to bottom. Is there any 55 gallons short to the ground?

With beardies, you are looking for floor space. The bigger the better. If the 55 gallon is an aquarium, alot of the space is height, not floor, no good for ground dwelling dragons.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck

40 gallon breeder! 55 gallons are NOT bigger. Just because the gallon number is larger, doesn't mean all the dimensions are. 40 gallon breeders measure 36x18x16, which is the minimum size tank for one adult beardie. 55 gallons are much smaller in width (12 inches). Beardies need atleast 18 inches of width in floor space.

I believe the general rule is that the tank should be as wide as your beardie is long (tail included).
