nobody ever goes to the toilet in these TV shows! I think these people must be weird or they just do it in their pants like in medievel times.

This is beacause this isn't the kind of thing writers think their main audience would be interesting in seeing unless it has some major relevance in the plot (for instance in 24 + CSI:Miami where characters have sent secret messages from the toilet on their phones or Scrubs as Elliot doesn't speak to people when she's on the toilet!). If we saw them all going to the toilet for no reason it would use up valuable screentime!

The only TV show I can think of that ever hinted at that is the American show "All In The Family". You heard toilet flushes and characters talking about the toilet at times in that show. I believe it was based on a British show called,"Til Death Do Us Part".

Because the TV productions like 'neighbours' is an art form and is not trying to be scientifically accurate to real life. They have a 'artist licence'

It would be incredibly boring if you followed characters 24/7 and had to live every second of their lives. Storylines would never move on because it'd take a year just to view one character's hour! And some of these things just don't need to be known.

it's a fair enough question but i dont want to see my partner go for a poo. it's nice not be bothered by little details like that in a soap
