I hated, hated, hated -- did I mention hated? -- Algebra 1 when I took it in eighth grade. Then freshman year I had geometry and I honestly didn't think it was bad at all. It got a little tricky when you get into circles and stuff like that, but I thought it was fine. The stuff that kids normally hate about algebra doesn't really exist in geometry; you don't have to work with polynomials and all the equations are pretty simple, you just have to understand shapes and angles and all that. Once you understand where all the numbers fit into place, then it's a piece of cake, in my opinion.

But I'll say this as well: Usually people either like one or the other. So if you hate algebra, you'll probably have no problems with geometry. If you were OK with algebra, you might not like geometry as much. But geometry still isn't bad.

Generally speaking, many that excell in Algebra I or Algebra II do not fair well in Geometry. The convese also seems to be true. I made C's in the Algebra's, but a 98 avg in Geometry.

Geometry is more visual and spacial.

Good luck!!

Geometry is usually a lot easier for most people. But it's hard in its own way because it involves a lot of proofs. For example, you have to demonstrate that two triangles are congruent based on the limited information they give you...and the proof has to be in the correct format. But theres not as many formulas in geometry as in algebra.

You will learn about triangles and proofs. Honestly, if you liked algebra you will hate geometry. Geometry is basically taking a look at shapes and proving your answers while algebra was more arithmetic related.

It was my great bugaboo in school, but no worse than algebra, which was another. I could never solve the theorems.
