I think that it would be great to start your own business after you graduate, but sometimes it is hard because you have to have money to start a business (most of the time). A lot of new grads don't have those sort of resources.

Get a job in whatever you want to do first, get the experience, know the people, know the risks, save some money then start your business.
Remember, if you work for someone, and sales aren't going, you are still getting paid. If you own the business, and sales aren't going, you still have to pay others.
Do your homework on the business first.

I'll be graduating with a degree in physical therapy, so starting my own practice right out of school isnt really a viable option. I plan to work at a hosptial for a few years and then see what other choices are open to me.

in my opinion independence just don't mean u start doing job. independence means u are free to think whatever u like, u are free to do whatever u wanna do but in limits. and looking at todays world i suggest u to do further studies.thats my priority
