I can't see justifying Manning with the 2nd pick. I'd much rather have Tomlinson or Alexander. With only 8 teams, you likely can wait a good while and still get a solid QB imo.

In an 8-man league, a 2nd round QB is really understandable only if Peyton Manning is the QB in question. The other QBs should remain lower round picks, maybe starting around the 4th. Peyton continues to pile up points for whatever team he is on, so he is not considered a risky pick. Tom Brady may be acceptable, but current WR conditions on the team may hurt his present draft position.
Still, I would take two monster RBs in the first two rounds since the WR and QB positions will definitely remain deep in this type of league (usually, I play 10-team leagues, which makes it a little more difficult). Remember that QBs don't necessarily have to win the game, just throw a lot and have a tendency to score often (which is why I would take Delhomme and Warner over Roethlisberger and Vick for example).

It really depends on the scoring system in your league. If the QB is getting 6 points for a TD pass, then yes, he is worth thinking about (because an average QB will throw 20-25 TDs, which is more than the 10-15 TD's from a normal running back).
But if the league offers less points per passing TD, then stick with the running backs and receivers. In an 8 team league, with the roster limitation of 2 QB's per team, you will get a solid QB in the late rounds.

you don't need peyton manning to win at Fantasy Footbgall, you need shaun Alexaner or LJ, whoever is still around (Shaun over LJ given Willie roaf's retirement.) If you want an elite QB, Brady or Palmer might be available in the late second round

peyton manning is always a good fantasy choice because he put up good number for fantasy games - always a lot of passing yards and not a lot of interceptions, might want to see who his #1 running back will be now he doen't have e. james to pass off to, might be iffy in that dept. it depends on the scoring your league commish has set up.

ONLY IF THAT QB IS PEYTON MANNING!!! OTHER THAN THAT NO WAY SHOULD A QB TAKEN IN THE FIRST 3 ROUNDS. NOT EVEN CARSON PALMER. I WOULD WAIT UNTIL THE 4TH OR 5TH ROUND.
