that there is a debate? Aren't these politicians who look the other way in fact traitors to the country, the earth and it's people? How come regular people don't care enough to actually read about the subject? Are we really that stupid?

The american people are stupid but not that stupid, they are just selfish, mainstream thinking is just let the next guy deal with it, I've got mine who cares. The attitude of the people in this country is basically worry about the next ten minutes, who cares about what our kids will have to deal with,or their kids. And as for our politicians, its easier to pretend that a problem is not happening than it is to address it, plus that makes it possible to keep getting elected, you don't have to ask anyone to do something that might be inconvenient, think about it.

There is a very good special on Discovery channel about this. The reason that the politicians at this time( Republicans are the majority) refuse to acknowledge this problem comes from the top. GWB doesn't care nor believe any of this because if he acknowledged the problem he'd have to make his rich friends stop the pollution. And one of the first things he did was refuse to sign the treaty for countries designed to deal with this problem. And I do agree that Mother Nature is cyclic and does some things every so many years. The problem at this point is that the contributions that people( Industrialized nations) have been making for years is combined with the natural course of events. Sorry this is a valid problem that we will all have to solve or die from.

Thirty Five years ago, they were warning us about global cooling!!! What happened to that? You cannot go back far enough to come to any conclusions. A hundred years on earth, is just like a peeple on a beach, The earth is 45 billion years old, how could you say it is global warming, they have only been keeping records for 100 years. If there is warming going on, it is just the natural cycle of the earth. How can you explain warming 200 years ago, before we had modern machinery, that they say cause warming????

It's a much higher percentage than 99%. And yes, I believe we are that stupid. People often vote for what is not in their best interest. Not voting for a candidate toi take care of Global Warming isn't much dumber than voting for a candidate promising tax cuts.

Why not see who is funding these "scientists"? I bet it is someone who wants the findings to support "Global Warming" and not the normal cycles of nature.

Because it's much more convenient to do NOTHING. It's not like Bush is going to be around in 50 years to see the result of his ignorance. I will expect an apology from his daughters, though.

people like to believe what they like.

that idiot bush, for example will never believe saddam didnt have wmd.

for everyone their shortterm goals are more important than global issues, & our future.

if any american is now protesting the war now, thats because of rising fuel prices, or because one of their loved one is serving in iraq. not because iraqis are suffering more under america than under saddam.

i'm not diverting from the issue of global warming, rather than asking politicians to stop it, implement it in our lives. stop seeing F1 races, reduce unnecessary travel, reduce energy waste, etc.
