Some men and guys as they were growing up were taught that little boys do not show their feelings. When they have been taught that for so many years it is hard to change. There are allot these days that are willing to show their feeling in the right situation and some that do are questioned. I from experience have learned that if you are with the right person that understands you and cares for will accept your feelings as they are. The feelings will come out in due time but you can not rush some thing that has been drilled into their heads for a life time. Good luck finding your answer I found mine when I was 42 when my mother passed away and now at 54 I show my feelings and express them also.

Relationships with women are about power. Lose your power and the woman loses interest. Most men have direct experience with this issue and act accordingly.
Most women say differently but their behavior says something else. Almost every man gets this question from his woman sooner or later. Most give you a convenient lie to shut you up, since we know it simply is not possible to address the issue with you in a way that will result in anything less than a disaster.

Hahahaha, ppl have been trying to figure out the answer to this question for YEARS! Guys don't even know. Let me know when you find out though. It most likely has something to do with keeping up the image of being the provider, the strong one who can do anything that is needed to be done. and SOMEWHERE deep in the male psyche it is written that a display of emotion is weak.

Because the second we do, you accuse us of being "Gay." You cannot have it both ways, dear. This whole line of question is very akin to the " I want equal pay, I want equal treatment...why was he so rude as to NOT hold the door for me?" stuff that has been going on for 30 years. You women do NOT appreciate a "sensitive man," you make him out to be less than "Manly," yet you scream when he behaves exactly like you want him to behave. Make up your minds, please. Men are long past the point of caring...with women, it is any way they want the wind to blow, it should blow that way. Sorry, it just doesn't work in real life. You are getting what you say you want, yet don't like the consequeces of your desires. Good luck

Society encourages us to be strong. To be tough we feel we need to hide our feelings and act like we are in control. That's one of the reasons we play sports, it allows us an outlet for our testosterone that is safe and acceptable. We also need to appear strong in the workplace, as men were traditionally the bread winners and had to think about career advancement. Times are changing and perhaps the way men are treated will change as well.

T.d. Jakes talked about this once I remember. If a young child breaks down, he/she will normally run to their mother. If the wife breaks down they will go to their husband for support. If the husband breaks down, it almost like he has no place to go. The reasoning is because men are conditioned to be the "head of the household," to be able to fix anything, solve anything, do anything. However when a wrench is thrown into our works the only way we will open up to our counterpart is if we already know that she is trustworthy, loyal, understanding and respectful. It's like saying if you saw me in my weakest moment would you tell everyone about it, would you laugh? That is one of man's greatest fears.

Sorry - that is the way the male brain is hardwired
"Psychological studies have found better memory in women than men for emotional events, but the neural basis for this difference is unknown."

Society frowns upon males showing emotion. Strong males are not supposed to do this, but it's fading away.
