Because the instant you say not to do something, it becomes interesting. It's like sayinig "Don't look down" when you're hanging off the edge of a building...that's the first thing you do. :)

Same reason people look down when you say not to. Or when people say don't look at that guy in the orange and purple shirt. It's to fulfill their curiosty. You just wanna look.

well they want to know the reason you are telling them not to look back. if you didn't tell them anything, they probably wouldnt have a care to look anyways.
