Better Homes and Gaardens has asoftware program that allows you to build your house, and, by adding the soctof specific lumber, etc figure the soct of the house(and it's fairly accurate if you stick to the plan you drew with the software.

You should be able to contact a contractor and ask how much they charge per square feet to get an idea.
