In 2001 I was diagnosed with cancer. Having to tell my children was the hardest day of my life. I thank God everyday because I am here on this beautiful earth and cancer free. Getting sick inspired me to pursue my dreams. I had always put them on the back burner because I was too busy working and raising my children. I realized that was an injustice to them. They did not know me and what I was capable of. I had always dreamed of being an artist and author. I also realized I wanted to leave a part of me behind for many generations of my family to come.
Since November 2001 I have designed over 200 fairies and am often called upon to design tattoos. When someone puts your work on their body...it's one of the highest compliments they can pay you. Some of my art is in local stores. In April of this year my first book was released "Susquehanna Spirits". My second "Dark Visions" will be released within a year. I am almost finished my third. Another dream of mine is to have some of my poetry put to music. I'll get there! I have a wonderful family who supports me every step of the way!

A blind man was being moved into the old folks home, and as he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, he was provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old
having just been presented with a new puppy.

"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait." The caretaker said.

"That doesn't have anything to do with it," he replied. "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the happiness a new day has to offer."

---Now this story may be bubkiss, but for the past two days I've kept the lesson from this story in the back of my mind when I've entered new situations and it has been pretty amazing.

No cause you'll turn all of my inspiration into a song, make mega bucks out of it and refuse to give me the royalties.

OK!!! When I was 16, I saw FLASHDANCE for my birthday. I was completely mesmerized by the movie. A strong, sexy woman who wasn't afraid to work like a man. Guess what I've made myself???
That is who I am today. Nothing beats that in my mind.
