You just don't get it, do you? Do you want to wait until suicide bombers appear in your part of the world? And they will. The Israelis are making sure of that. If WW2 did not kill all the marine life in the med why would this little skirmish. What do you want them to do? Land our troops and take out both sides.
If you are so much smarter do you have a better way to end this other then letting them fight it out. If we enter on either side other countries will enter on the other side. World War 1 started with someone from a country no one has herd of assassinating someone in another small country no one has herd of.

I wouldn't go as far as you do, but the following are true:

1) The U.S. and Britain (to a lesser extent) have little or no respect for the U.N. It's no surprise that there was little reaction from our government when Israel killed those 4 U.N. workers.

2) U.S. industries are making a ton of money off the sales of arms and munitions to Israel right now. For economic reasons, the U.S. certainly wants the fighting to continue.

3) The Israel and the U.S. (military, government, & civilians) are over-confident in the capabilities of the "smart bombs" they're using. As noted in the documentary "Why We Fight," of the first 50 "smart bombs" used in the Iraq War, 0 hit their intended targets. The military buys these weapons from their corporate suppliers, who have an financial incentive to exaggerate the capabilities of their weapons. The military takes their word for it, probably runs tests according to the limited specifications given by the companies, then sells the idea to the general public while also limiting accessiblity of unintentional civilian targets to the news media. We trust technology too much. If you don't believe me, would you permit the military to launch a smart bomb at a selected target in your neighborhood? Or is that only acceptable to do in other nations?

The idea is that Israel can do no wrong, they're God's chosen people. Plus all muslims are guilty until proven innocent, so the idea is that the more muslim's they kill, the better. The muslim killing of two soldiers will continue to outweigh the slaughter of innocent women and children by Israel until all of muslim Lebanon is purged.

Actually, if you look into history, you will find that Muslims began militant actions around 680 C.E. when a Shi'a named Husayn was slaughtered for rebelling against the elected caliphs appointed by the Sunni. Shi'ite Muslims want the blood caliph re-instated (that is the blood relative of Muhammad) to lead Islam. This is the core of Muslim conflict.
