Well speaking from experience, the nose one is a pain in the ***, make sure you go to a professional who uses a needle and not a gun (my mistake). But I have allergies and the nose was a pain in the ***, cuz it would poke the inside of my nose. BUT! They make "cork screw" nose rings that would reduce that.
As for the lip, you learn to eat with it. So many people have lip piercings so it obviously must not be a huge problem.

Nose piercings vary person to person, you're definetly going to want to get pierced by a needle, no matter what the piercing is, it's smarter to get it done, less chance of infection and it's more precise. As far as a lip ring goes, you run the chance of wearing the enamel off of your teeth everytime it scrapes. I have a few friends who have had to take theirs out because they've worn off their enamel in places. But if you do decide to get both of those, you can buy what are called retainers for piercings. Most piercing places sell them and even places like Claires sell them, they're clear or skin colored and work in 90% of work places, I wore them as a soccer ref, and from my experience you can get away with a retainer, I suggest the clear ones, and then use some cover up it works great!

your nose will not bother you at all and you can take it out but you need to have a clear stud to put in it til it heals. Your lip on the other hand will being very annoying for a couple of weeks and the are hard to tkae in an out at first.

I'm not sure about the lip piercing but my son got his nose and his eyelid pierced.
The eyelid kept getting infected so he finally gave up and let it close up.
The nose piercing seemed to be ok. They told him to leave the nose ring in and to come in to the tattoo parlor for them to change it out. ( don't know why)
