Believe the hype. Global warming is fact according to the scientific community. The only authorities on this subject who continue to question it, and do a disservice to the greater world community, are those whose jobs depend on a misinformed public.

Every single peer-reviewed article on global warming by ACTUAL scientists concurs that global warming is real and the release of carbon emissions by humans is the reason. Yet when people type in "global warming" on google they get armchair scientists and bloggers refuting this truth for no other reason than they simply don't want to believe it.

The fact is, politicians and energy lobbies have been filling the public space with misinformation in an effort to create doubt. But ask members of the scientific community - the people who have no agenda - and they will tell you plainly that there is no doubt.

Certainly global conditions do operate in cycles, and this has proven true as far back as conditions in the atmosphere and earth will allow us to look. But that does not explain recent spikes in key indicators - spikes that are off the chart and cannot be explained away by "cyclical climatology."

If people truly believe global warming to be hype, I advise them to do some serious reading on the subject. And not opinion pieces by people with agendas. Actual scientific articles on the subject.

The truth is out there.

Scientists have been studying the polar ice pack extensively for the last 50 years and have witnessed the alarming rate of melting during the past decade. Worst case scenarios are what the hype is about and if you believe the scientists who say the earth has natural cycles of hot and cold, why would you accept that as fact and dismiss those who forecast major rises in sea levels if the polar ice cap continues to melt at this rate? Either believe them both, dismiss them both, but to take one over the other, makes no sense.Don't you think the prudent thing would be to attack the reasons why the ice is melting so fast, just in case. I'm sure coastal communities 30 or 40 years from now would appreciate it.

There are already some good answers posted here.

Global warming started off as a hypothesis, but now the evidence is overwelming.

The Kyoto agreement was proposed to take care of the global enviroment, mainly because of global warming. Countries are encouraged to reduce emissions (eg CO2) and are fined if levels are in excess.

Many countires signed up and pay fines as they try to reduce their emissions - for the good of the world long term.

Unfortunately one to the largest pollutant producing countries - AMERICA - did not sign up.

Sorry - got a bit off topic here - but it indicates how the issue of global warming is political as well as scientific

international warming has been suggested making use of over a dozen diverse tests i will think of of (thermometers, satellites, climate balloons, sea point, tropopause height, seasonal arrival cases, animal migrations, melting ice, increasing tropical Hadley cellular, boreholes, ice cores, outgoing radiation etc). So this is especially plenty previous doubt that it has got here about. different examine has concluded that human interest is the main probably reason. As for polar bears; there is a few talk over that. In some places the place melting has got here approximately plenty, polar bears seem doing extremely badly and populations are occurring. a million or 2 populations are increasing however. this could be defined by how there continues to be ice, and melting/thinning ice provides them greater section to seek in. To be straightforward, the effect i've got have been given is that polar bears are doing ok on the 2nd and that's going to be many years till now they might see severe decline. people who focus on the impending destruction of the species are in all probability exaggerating.

You are correct. The global warming issue is hype. Yes there is global warming and cooling, but it is not something we can do much about. It's not worth making an issue out of.

No it is not just a hypothesis, scientists have compaired the size of the polar ice caps to the size twenty some years ago and they are signficantly smaller. This means that the ice has melted and gone into the ocean, which could change the tides. With more fresh water in the ocean currents can change. The weather is getting warmer, which results in the polar ice caps melting and causes the changes in weather we have recently seen.

I THINK WE ARE FUEL TO THE SUN..THE MORE GASSES WE EMIT THE MORE HOTTER THE SUN GETS! IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY WE ARE SURROUNDED BY DIFFERENT GASSES AND IT GOES DIRECTLY TO THE SUN AS FUEL! JUST LIKE A CANDLE IT NEEDS OXYGEN AND DIFFERENT GASSES IN ORDER TO LIGHT UP!

OR MAYBE EARTH IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THE SUN BECAUSE WE ARE EMITTING MORE JUNK!
