A boss' slave has many advantages. First one being the heavy responsibility... Second great work ethics...third accomplishing tasks that arent usually in his/her job description. Dont be bitter. Why are they advantages, I'll let you know soon...keep reading.

Make a list of everything you do at work. That should take some time. Are you working late hrs because of your own time mismanagement or because of an impossible workload.

Have you spoken to your boss? If you are doing so much work do not fear your boss, he/she needs you more than or as much as you need him/her. Bring up your list and request a raise or promotion based on your responsibilities or simply learn to give timelines instead of just getting deadlines. Say something like "Based on my workload, I can have this in to you by Friday (when its today is mon) because I have to do this...that...and yada yada." Your boss will tell you what takes priority and what can wait.

Perhaps your boss is taking advantage and needs to see you as the responsible worker that you are, not superman/woman. Never say you can't do the job... you can be realistic when giving a timeline and break down your reasons. Perhaps the workload will be shared amoung other employees or a much needed employee will be added to your department.

Never stay late unless its mandatory... A half hr is fine but hrs overtime should be up to you. you deserve to go home decent hrs. Schedule a life outside of work and stick to it.

If you decide to leave because things dont work out...your list can help with your resume... My advice is to always keep a fresh and updated resume handy, it helps boost your self-confidence to truly know your worth and it saves time if you are really going to use it!
