Don't they know what the word neoconservative actually means?
Here is the definition: former leftist who have moved significantly to the right. I have never been a leftist but I am frequently called a neocon. Why is that? I AM A CONSERVATIVE, A TITLE I WEAR PROUDLY!

Derek I am proud to wear the label Conservative. As Liberals should be proud to be called Liberals. I am not a neocon however because I did not used to be a Liberal.

Ignorance and jealousy. They like the idea of having a label as blatantly damaging as Liberal. Americans don't think Conservative is a bad word but Liberal has an obvious negative connotation. They came up with neocon to try and discredit the Conservative mindset. It has not worked.

Thank you for this post. I get that all the time. I am a CONSERVATIVE and was never a Marxist, Trotskyist or the like and have never been any sort of liberal. Another big misconception about neocons: Most were born prior to the 1940s so the majority of the people these days really can't be considered them because they were never liberals "mugged by reality" as Irving Kristol once said. If only the liberals would do some research and understand this instead of spouting off their typical talking points.

Yes, I guess there is a new definition of the word now. O, well. It's not the first time people have used a term being completely uninformed about it. Bill Buckley was called a "neoconservative." So anyone who is called a neoconservative
is in pretty good company.

Love, Jack

Well, lets see, all Democrats are LABELED liberals and "salad eaters" and "soft on this or that" and YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT. Yet you get called a NEO-CON and you wonder why? Maybe if YOU stopped the label slinging we would too!!!!

You get it because of the FAR-RIGHT leading you guys by the b*lls. They tell you what your main platform is and what to believe. When to vote and what to vote for, the politicians, wanting their "dollars" follow suit. Such "rabid" people as Ann Coulter and the person that while seems to have a drug addiction (yet EVERYONE on the right IGNORES IT) Rush Limbaugh, (rofl, "alleged" sex pervert (who paid OFF his accuser)) Bill O'Lielly is taken at his word while he crucified Clinton for LESS. So you see, its a matter of degress, Ann Coulter has called for the assassination of an ex-president, no one said a word. Bill O'Reilly has a phone sex problem, hey, for you guys, NO PROBLEM. Rush Limbaugh, drugs, WHAT DRUGS? He's simply Dr. Shopping. (Oh, and picking up lots of pills in the process). So there's a BIG double standard of what the Media will and won't report on.

That's why YOU'RE NEO-CON'S to me.

YOU control the media, the politics, and many other things and I consider you evil, through and through.

It's kind of like the ol saying when you get pulled back in the pot.....

they are losing there collectiveness. People of the left are abandoning them and moving to the right so fast. All their friends have left them. So every body that is right is called a neocon. This is why they will not get the house back. The thing is, is that the liberal mind is so splintered, and factioned out that they are fighting amongst themselves for scraps.

well your un-neocon title has been hijacked by ultra conservatives in this administration that speaks for all conservatives everywhere. it's like the way jihadist islamists have hijaked the entire islam religion these days. they have spokesmen and pretend to speak for larger groups of people than they deserve, yet they do. if you disagree with neoconservative philosophy policy as it tends to lable all conservatives with the same broad brush, then jump right out there and say thay you are not a neocon. organize groups of like minded not-so-neo-conservatives to speak out against the neocons you pretend to not be part of.

when your party is in power, that job belongs to YOU.

Well since this administration has done the over spending of five administrations put together before them, there is nothing Conservative about their politics. They are following Fascism with Bush's foreign policies and 800 signing statements to undermined the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Bush is trying to erase our founding fathers statements and add in his own. George Bush thinks he is Americas new founding father and that is blasphemy...to America.

I think ever since the word neo-nazi was coined, it's given the word neo a bad reputation. So people who disagree with conservatives automatically assume it's a slur against conservatives when it's not.

Only Liberals and atheists use that term for Conservatives, Christians and anyone else that would disagree with them on any subject.
