i totally hate my lyrics too! (after re-reading them of course) i think i have two poems/lyrics thati have that i like, but they are really personal so i can't share them with the world.... usually it's about how i feel at the moment or a bad day at school ( i'm not a positive person) but if you listen to a song and pay attention to they lyric pattern it kinda helps (it works for me ☺) hope it works for you! ☺

you are writing what you feel down on a paper thats why when u re read them again it doesnt seem familiar .... it always happens
its like when u record ur own voice and listening to it sounds different and weird but others say thats how you soun.... you are hearing it from other peoples point of view same for ur lyrics
maybe u can send me a lyric or song if not dont change what u write now or day after songs are good when everyone can relate to but great songs are told from the artists point of view ... like some songs are remade after the original artists and can be better but some songs arent because its the artist personal lyrics are like personalities and doesnt match others .... unique

OF COURSE!!! The reason this usually happens is that you're fee;ing a certain emotion while writing them.... So the next time you read them you're like "was I asleep when writing this??" One way to help eliminate that feeling is by including something in your llyrics that helps all readers feel how you were feeling when writing them.... Or you could empty your mind before writing lyrics.. think about absolutey nothing and feel absolutely nothing.... concentrate on nothing but how you would want a song to make you feel... It'll come to you soon enough!!!

You write words depending on your mood. As in if you are angry, the words may be more violent or agressive towards the subject of song. and if happy, the words more observational and mellow. I have to same problem as you. One day you may think it is so awesome, and the next day, you think what the heck!?!? lol. os dont worry..just make sure if you put the music to it. that it follows how you felt when you were writing the lyrics.

speak approximately drama folks.......what the heck is up with all of the negativity? what is with all of the thumbs-downs? Sure he claimed that a few of his lyrics did not make feel (pay attention to the lyrics of 'On a Plain' lol) however that does not imply that there is not any that means in the back of it, correct? Sheesh, I'm worn out of all of the Nirvana/Kurt Cobain hatred on R&P. As I've recounted typically earlier than, Nirvana is hyped up with the lovers and underrated with the haters......all you haters have to observe that his band used to be NOT the worst factor to occur to tune as you declare! During their high, they had been significantly acclaimed! I wager if R&P existed in 1992, everybody might be raving approximately how exceptional they had been! Many of you hate them considering that they grew to be legends after Kurt's loss of life. So what? When I first listened to them, I did not get into the band considering that of his loss of life, however considering that of the MUSIC. Who cares if he is lifeless? I might pay attention to Nirvana whether or not Kurt Cobain used to be lifeless or alive. rattling No, I'm now not looking to get all you haters to grew to be lovers or some thing, however you ought to supply the band credit score and admire. GSP: your welcome :) however your reply used to be well too!

A suggestion is to record self singing the lyric immediately! If you use another's song, tune or rhythm you gotta give them the credit! Save the recording and wait till ya have a CD's worth then try shopping it around! That's how EVERYBODY get's discovered!

well, maybe your lyrics really are good, and you are just being critical. but for music, you have to like your own stuff and be able to look back and know exactly what you meant by what you're saying. wait for the day when you look at some lyrics you wrote and then say "wow. that was really good." just be honest with yourself.

Yes. I write fiction and if I go back to read it too soon, I'm like this sucks, but if I wait like a month and re-read it, I feel proud. My guess is you're being too hard on yourself. Give it more time before you review it. Hope that helps!

Just edit. But don't erase or destroy anything. You may just be in a different mood that day. If you don't like it edit it. It may very well be good, but just doesn't speak to you that particular day. You'll probably look back at it later and like it, and hate it the next day. Such is writing.
