Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there's really not much you can do except hope DSL comes to your area. Only so much data can be forced down a telephone line unless you have DSL or ISDN. You could get ISDN, but it would probably cost more than cable and wouldn't be nearly as fast. Your only real options are to bite the bullet and pay the cable company's extortion (my Roadrunner is $50 a month, so I can sympathize) or live with dialup.

Well, you are using a modem (dial-up) running 56k and that is very slow when dealing with videos. It is also possible the other end where you are getting the video its throughput may be slow too. Sorry there is not much you can do.

i agree, there's nothing else you can do with a 56k ISP. maybe you can try switching to another isp company that have those "excellerated dial up" stuff they advertise on tv. i dont know if they actually work.
i used to have dial up and i feel your pain.

it's cause you ahve an older comp. getting a faster internet service ( cox?) and a newer comp will help.but defineitly ditch the dial up.
