There really isn't much to compare when thinking of the Disney version of Sleepy Hollow and the live action version. The story lines and everything were very different. As for the Disney version you just can't beat Bing Crosby's narration and singing voice. Disney has always been able to make G rated creepy fun, while still giving you the shivers.

The live action with Johnny Depp and Christopher Walken was very good I thought. I liked the way it was filmed with the sliver wash to everything, the costumes and such were gorgeous, and the sets were well done; very true to old colonial.

As for the story line, I thought they did a good job with that also. Witchcraft was a big issue in those days, remember the Salem Witch Trials? The German soldiers did join in the battles and were considered the fiercest and most feared soldiers; they were rather brutal murderers. That was also about the same time that doctors were going through a medical growth and trying all kinds of different instruments and such, especially in Europe.

As for it being scary, I can't say it chilled my blood. It had it's moments of just plain creepiness; Christopher Walkin's teeth, the blood from the tree, her cave dwelling sister, and the little boy hiding in the floor boards were all great breath takers.

Not particularly that horrifying, just a few scenes stricken me and no longer so much to be horrifying approximately: I consider it is valued at the gore it has in it and those I word are: a million. Blood from tree two. His mom in an iron maiden three. Numerous head choppings. It's extra amusing and exciting than gory, so do not be involved...I'm frightened of horror movies and I do not uncover it in any respect horrifying

I thought it was ridiculous... I love Johnny and Christopher Walken but I thought it was horrible. I get more spooked watching the old disney version narrated by Bing Crosby ...
