Goosebumps is a popular American series of children's horror fiction novellas created and authored by R. L. Stine. Sixty-two books were published under the Goosebumps umbrella title from 1992 to 1997, the last one being Monster Blood IV.

Like the later Harry Potter novels, the Goosebumps series was often challenged in libraries; the novels were 15th on the American Library Association's list of most frequently challenged books from 1990 to 1999 [1].

The series spawned a gamebook spinoff, also written by R. L. Stine called Give Yourself Goosebumps. Several of the titles in the series were made into movies; the series also inspired a television series named Goosebumps which ran from 1995 to 1998. The book The Haunted Mask inspired two videos.

In December 1998, Goosebumps was relaunched as Goosebumps: Series 2000. Unfortunately, this did not last long due to declining popularity. There are 25 Series 2000 books, including two sequels to an original series (Night of the Living Dummy) and two other sequels, "Return to Horrorland" and "Return to Ghost Camp".

There were two parody books by R.U. Slime called Gooflumps: Eat Cheese and Barf! and Stay Out of the Bathroom.

"Goose bumps (AE), also called goose pimples, goose flesh (BE), chicken skin (Hawaiian Pidgin), or cutis anserina, are the bumps on a person's skin at the base of body hairs which involuntarily develop when a person is cold or experiences strong emotions like fear, or harmonious joy. It occurs not only in humans but also in many other mammals; a prominent example are porcupines which raise their quills when threatened.

The reflex is started by the sympathetic nervous system, which is in general responsible for many fight-or-flight responses."

I hope mine would be the best!!!!!

Goose bumps are a temporary local change in the skin. The chain of events leading to this skin change starts with a stimulus such as cold or fear. That stimulus causes a nerve discharge from an involuntary portion of the nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system. The nerve discharge causes contraction of little muscles called the arrectores pilorum (the hair erector muscles). Contraction of these muscles elevates the hair follicles above the rest of the skin. And it is these tiny elevations we perceive as goose bumps.

The words used to describe this condition are curious and colorful. "Goose bumps" are listed in the Merriam- Webster Collegiate Dictionary (as two words in the plural). The term entered English in 1933 to indicate "a roughness of the skin produced by erection of its papillae esp. from cold, fear, or a sudden feeling of excitement."

Goose bumps are what you call the reaction to shivers and cold, when your skin puckers up like a plucked goose's, and the hair on your arms stands up on end.

It ability no longer something different than you having an emotional reaction to the words you're listening to or making a music. Ever ask your self why you dont get goosebumps on your face?? Or, for that count, why we get goosebumps in any respect? All furry animals get goosebumps to guard themselves from chilly - muscle stiffen and erect the hairs which then catch air between them to act as insulation.
