No. A baby actually has fewer bones than an adult because some of what will be bones later on start out as cartilage, and bone is laid down as she/he grows.

Yes this is true. At birth the human skeleton consists of 270 bones. As ossification (bone development) occurs in infancy the number increases. During adolescence the number of bones decreases , as separate bones gradually fuse together. An adult human skeleton has approximately 206 bones.

That depends upon how you defign the skull.

A newborn has a skull that is made up uf discrete bones - so that it can deform as it passes through the birth canal.

This is one of the reasons baby's have "soft spot" on the top of their heads - no bone exists their yet.

Very shortly after birth however, the bones start to fuse together to form a single rigid piece.

So if you consider the skull bones of an infant to be indevidual bones - then Yes - if you think of them as a single piece that have not yet grown together - then no.

Yes, it's true. The baby's skull (and other bones) is not completely fused together to make it "movable" during vaginal childbirth. They harden and fuse as the baby ages.

Edited to add: According to this website, there are about 300 bones, initially, which fuse into 206.
