Is it just me, or is van Nistelrooy *grossly undervalued*, OR did Chelsea just get *ripped off* by AC Milan with the Shevchenko transfer?? Seems to me Ferguson was right when he said that the two have near-identical club football records and yet Shevchenko costs twice as much in tranfer fees.
And why did Man Utd decide to sell van Nistelrooy ?? And for 1million euros less than their original asking price?? He was one of their best players in the last few years.

God you people are NOT ANSWERING MY QUESTION AT ALL!!! I only felt the transfer prices of the 2 should match a bit more, not that van Nis is better or Sheva is better or whatever the hell you're all discussing..... geez...........................................

Van Nistelrooy wanted to leave because he felt that Man Utd didnt appreciate him enough. I think overall Shevchenko is the better player.

Dude all you said was complete nonsense. It is common sense, which I believe you dont have, that Shevchenko is better than van Nistelrooy. Did you happen to see how Shevchenko lifted Ukraine all the way into the quarterfinals, and where was Holland? Not in the quarterfinals.

its just you van Nistelrooy waits for others to give him the ball whilst on the other hand shevchenko creates goals for himself and others.
Yes van Nistelrooy scores goals but if you have the choise of a playmaker and goal scorer or just a goal scorer alone which will you chose

economics. Shev's numbers/play was on the rise. Van The Man's numbers are down from 2003. And you never know - he may be a head case now. Remember he had problems with the Dutch coach in 2004. It's up to Capelli to prove he got a bargain. Will he even start with Ronaldo, Robinho and Raul there?
But Sir Alex has no one to blame but himself. How many stars has he driven away from United and not replaced? Becks, Stam, Keane, Ruud, and I bet Ronaldo is next.

hey now!!! relax! it's not really economics... Ruud van Nis. is getting old while Schevchenko is in his best days so we should expect that his price goes up, no mater how good Ruud played, Andrij has 26\27 years (i'm not quite sure)... it's always just like that! don't watch the news young and up coming footballers are always more expencive then the old ones...
what were you expecting???
oh! and ps. Ferguson did a great move by selling Beckham (he was getting more of a fashion-model then a footballer), keane doesn't play as good as he did a cople of years ago, and Ronaldo is a cheap primadona...

Both, I wouldn't say Chelsea got ripped off because Sheva is a great striker but they did pay a lot because AC Milan knows that Chelsea doesn't have spending limits. Van Nstelrooy is very undervalued, he is one of the best if not the best in the box striker in the world, but as of late for some reason his managers don't want to play him and as a result both ManYoo and Holland didn't do to well.

Not sure if he'll get it because so many strikers from Italy are going to come on the market probably as their teams are relegated to serie B and that will make it hard to get more money. Ruud's a great player don't get me wrong but I think there might be better players availble soon.

I am on the same wave line as you, I think Real Madrid got one hell of a bargain with Ruud. Manchester United did`nt decide to sell him, he wanted away from the club, he started feeling left out last season because Alex was playing Saha instead because he was scoring & ruud was`nt, and he was upset about it (my opinion) I have yet to hear what they were paid for ruud. but i do`nt think it will have been enough.
