Most older motherboards will use the PC133 RAM if they used the PC100. The thing is, if the boards bus speed isnt rated for 133, then it will only operate at 100. Sucks, to be sure, but thats how it works.

I really love some of the answers here. It really shows how intelligent some (most) people aren't when it comes to computers.

If you are adament about using PC133 you can still buy it at Staples. They carry PC133 and DDR, but not DDR2 as someone here claimed as the only stuff you can buy. You should consider buying a newer PC though. It will be so much faster than that one with the PC100 RAM.

Good luck.

You won't even be able to find that anymore. The latest standard is DDR2, all AM2 (AMD) and Socket 775 (Intel) motherboards are equipped with DDR2 slots (PC4200, PC4300, PC5400 and so on). And, since your computer is so very outdated, you'll have to change the processor, motherboard and most likely your graphics card as all new motherboards come equipped with a PCIe x16 (PCI express) slot for graphics cards. And none of this new tech is backwards compatible with what you are using, that I can tell you.

If your dead set on getting PC133 you'll have to get a used motherboard, check eBay and processor compatibility, you'll have to determine that for yourself when you check the board, I only know what they use now. I've got no idea what was used way back in that era (I'm talking like six to ten years ago).

At a minimum, the memory. If your motherboard only supports PC100, you'll need to replace it as well. The processor should be fine, as long as you can find a motherboard that supports it. PC100 is pretty old stuff.

The memory and possibly the setting in bios.

You MAY or may not need a new motherboard, which may or may not require you to purchase a different processor.

You CAN still get that kind of memory. It's expensive relative to today's memory.

You won't really realize any perfomance gains, it'll cost you too much for what you're (not) gaining.

Don't switch unless you're getting the 133 for free and your current motherboard already supports it.

nO, u need not change your motherboard or processor, but u have to change RAM UPTO 512 mb according to your computer specification

still u can increase harddisk capacity by attaching one more..

Just go for SEAGATE harddisk.

really good.
