My daughter smiled at one month old, and started laughing at 3 months. Do you play with your son...Like: I put my mouth on her face and make Ma-Ma sounds. It works!!!!!!!!! She laughs all the time. You have to have your own technique. Also, I dance and sing with my daughter. She smiles at that too.
My mother has found my daughter's funny bone!! It's on her chest. My mother tickles her while making a scratchy sound.
This is my first baby so I do trail and error, what I've seen other parents do, and advice. I believe it's mainly the sound and touch approach that is key. It does not matter if it's the feet or stomach but that you play with sound and touch. Babies need a lot of touch and they learn from what you do. I laugh also and that let's her know that I'm playing.
My mother always tells me that babies are a blank board and the parent's, teachers, and society writes on it; so, just don't sit back and see what happens....Help him to laugh with your laugh.

my son laughed at about 5 mos. my niece waited much later she was about 8 mos. All children are different. Look at all your childs other milestones before you worry. Is your son delayed at anything else? Is he advanced at anything? My son didnt talk until late but he fed himself at 5 mos. drank from cups at 9 mos and was potty trained at 1 year and 3 mos. Your child may just be concentrating on other things. Also everyones personality is different. And a word of advice dont tickle too much it may increase chances of studdering and delay speech later on.
