First off, Western Europe was busy fighting amongst itself vice the more united Ottoman Empire. I doubt any one power could have outright defeated the Ottomans before the late 19th century. ANd also because in the 18th and 19th century there was a thousand miles of Muslim Ottoman lands between Istanbul and Vienna. Why would the Western Europeans what to deal with that?

the 'western powers' you're think of didn't have radio or airplane or basic hygiene back then. what were you hoping they might do? invent toothpaste and ride off to victory?
